Nothing says I love you like a handmade gift. By crafting something unique for your loved one on Valentine’s Day, your thoughtfulness and creativity will shine through. So get creative to really show your appreciation, the list of handmade gifts is endless! Here’s a few ideas to get you started…
Handmade Cards and Decorations:
While you can find some great shop-bought Valentine’s Day cards, if you want to send a truly personal message to that special someone, making your own card at home is the perfect Valentine’s Day token. Romantic, funny, cute or even a little risqué, if you can find the right words, a homemade card is probably the most thoughtful way to express your feelings.
Handmade decorations are heartfelt way to fill your home with love this year! There are so many ways to dress up your living areas for the big day. One place to start is by creating paper heart banners, beautifully simple, they can be created by cutting red card into romantic shapes and connecting them together with string. You could even try recycling things you have already in your home.
With a few crafting essentials, card, glue, scissors, you can get creative with hearts, flowers, use romantic textures like lace, or feathers, try a pop of red or pink colours, or print out some of your favourite photos. Whatever you create, you know they’ll love it. Signed, sealed, delivered, they’re yours.

The atmosphere:
Whether you’re going out or staying in, you’ll want to set the tone for a romantic evening. Here are a few ideas on how you could create the perfect atmosphere this Valentine’s Day.
Warm up the atmosphere at home
With the dark, cold winter months upon us, why not create a warm atmosphere at home. Getting the lighting right makes all the difference. If you have a fireplace, this can be the perfect way to bring in warmth and light, while candles bring a romantic ambiance to any room… have we mentioned recycled Red Door Gin bottles are a great candle holder?
Setting the table
If you’re putting together a show-stopping menu, set the mood for romance with a table decorated with traditional Valentine’s day symbols. Hearts and flowers in pinks and reds are always in style.
Movie Marathon
Although we can’t guarantee the weather, we can guarantee a movie marathon night is always a great choice. Nothing better than being cosy when it’s cold outside watching some well-known romcoms or any movie of your choice!
And the Sweet Treats!
Sweet treats are the key to many people’s hearts! If you are a keen baker or looking to experiment baking, Valentine’s Day could be the perfect opportunity for you to brush up on your culinary skills and serve up a tempting selection for that special someone.
You can’t go wrong with cookies and cakes, or you could get adventurous and melt chocolates into personalised moulds… paired perfectly with a bottle of Red Door Gin, of course!
