Red Door Gin returned to London Fashion Week to show our support for Johnstons of Elgin!

After the success of the SS19 presentation, we were delighted to return to London Fashion Week to celebrate the launch of Johnstons of Elgin’s much-anticipated AW19 collection.

Johnstons of Elgin

As luxury cashmere and knitwear master millers, Johnstons of Elgin have over two hundred years of experience in textile manufacturing. Today, they combine their traditional expertise and knowledge of natural fibers with creative flair, designing cutting edge collections from the finest cashmere and wool.

They are also our close neighbours, situated just down road from our distillery in Moray, Scotland.

A fitting venue for Fashion Week

The London Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2019 presentation took place in the gorgeously grand Soane Hall at One Marylebone. A converted 19th century church, the beautiful backdrop boasted original stained-glass windows, mosaics and a decadent domed ceiling. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect stage on which the thirty models could proudly showcase Johnstons of Elgin’s new collection.

Presenting the Autumn-Winter 2019 collection

Brilliantly bright with bursts of bold colour, Johnstons of Elgin’s AW19 Art Deco inspired collection demonstrates a truly innovative and inspired use of traditional fabrics. The range juxtaposes contemporary abstract prints with traditional tartan, retaining influence from a proud Scottish heritage.

Here’s what Johnstons of Elgin said about the collection:

“Inspired by the golden age of empire and travel, double-faced matte cashmere, lightweight merino and cashmere velour are key to the luxury collection.”

Serving the Red Door Gin cocktails

To show our support for the new season, we decided to treat the guests a pair of our most popular signature serves!

1. Red Door Gin & Tonic

Our classic Red Door G&T garnished with a slice of succulent pink grapefruit (the ideal sharpness to compliment the bittersweet flavour of our botanicals.)

2. Red Door Elderflower Collins

A beautiful blend of Red Door Gin, elderflower cordial, lemon juice and soda water, our Elderflower Collins meets the perfect balance between sweet and sharp; a deliciously refreshing drink to enjoy at the start of any evening.

What did the guests think of Red Door Gin?

“The evening was a spectacle of Scottish creativity, innovation, design and quality of product that stands with the very best in the world of fashion.

Red Door Gin is an elegant new drink to the market and the cocktails on the night matched the sophistication of the clothing.”
– Alastair

“The event was fantastic, I was styling the models hair with KAM hair and this has been the 3rd season we have attended. It’s such an honour to be asked along with the team to this event and it’s such a great opportunity.

This was the first time I have sampled Red Door Gin and really enjoyed it, I will certainly be recommending it to my fellow gin loving colleagues at KAM.”
– Tori

“As someone who loves gin, I was excited to find the bar serving a gin I have never tried before. Red Door Gin was smooth, flavoursome and made a great G&T. I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it at Johnstons of Elgin’s showstopping event!”
– Alex
